Just as the physical laws of lift and thrust allow an airplane to overcome the law of gravity, the law of life in Jesus allows us to overcome the law of sin and death!
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Jesus took the sins of the whole world (past, present & future) on Him and died on the cross in our place, thereby destroying the power that sin had over us. He then rose again from the dead on the third day, thereby displaying His power over death. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we become one with Him. We get everything He gets and we share equally in His victory. We see this identification of the believer with Jesus and His victory symbolized in the act of water baptism. Water baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward choice to follow Jesus. The believer “dies” (with Christ) and is “buried” (with Christ) by submersion in water, they then “rise’from the grave” (with Christ), coming up out of the water.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
