These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Jesus has overcome the world! As we abide in Him and He in us, we get to use His power and inherit His victory. This is the reason we are called more that conquerors (Romans 8:37), Jesus won the victory and we share in the spoils of victory.
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
The mountains are the obstacles and storms we face in life. Jesus says that if we, in faith command our mountains (obstacles and storms) to be be removed and caste into the sea, then they will get out of our way as we’ve instructed. This is huge! What Jesus is saying is, I have already defeated the devil and the world, I live in you as a born-again believer and my victory is your victory, now take the authority given you and be an over-comer!
We are not leaves in the wind, trying to survive in a broken world! We are not beggars, asking God to rescue us, we were rescued 2000 years ago by Jesus on the cross. Let’s stand up in our God given authority and overcome everything the world throws at us through the power of Jesus!
